Memory ∙ Time ∙ Perception:
Exploring memory, time, and perception across words, sound and image.
I am the author of a completed literary triptych: three independent novels exploring the same central question from three planes of existence.
Desert Lake follows multiple voices circling a shared body of water, each approaching a point where the usual strategies have stopped working. Photo Booth follows a drifter and writer through the Florida Keys in a world quietly calibrated to receive him. The Waiting Room, the third and most ambitious, takes the same questions into a liminal afterlife, where the ground thins beneath insistence and firms beneath admission.
A fourth novel, Red Mesa Motel, is underway.
My visual and musical work has drawn recognition from established artists and musicians, some of whom have cited it as influential within their own practice. My work is investigation of perception and moves across fiction, music, and visual art. The concerns are consistent throughout: memory, perception, and what remains when the self stops insisting.
